Beauty within Simplicity

 

 

When we quiet our spirit.

Silence our thoughts.

Miracles happen.

Beauty is found within the simplicity of our surroundings.

 

A gentle snowfall.

Trees dance about to the linear melody of song which can be heard within the whistling wind.

A train whistle awakens resting coyotes as the begin to howl in unison.

Beauty can be found all around us when we look through the lens of a different perspective. 

The perspective which reminds us that life is a gift.

How we choose to use this gift is up to us.

All is Well

 

I sat with my morning coffee in hand as my four-month-old pup curled up upon my lap for his morning nap.

Christmas music was playing in the background as the sweet voice of, Carrie Underwood, began to sing a favorite of mine, 'All is Well'.

Outside, dawn had broken, illuminating the earth bellow.

The dark, dormant branches and browning grass were now transformed into a crystalline wonderland from last night's frost.

 

There are no answers for tomorrow.

The unknowns are many.

Yet, a deep calm resides within my soul.

My thoughts are at peace.

Hope, renewed.

For God has not changed.

No!

He forever remains on the Throne.

 My heart, joyful.

As truth resounds, "All is Well."

 

 

Heirlooms

 

 

 This morning as I lay resting in the living room, pup soundly asleep upon my chest, my eyes were drawn to our Christmas tree.

Each ornament hung with care, now illuminated by the soft, white lights, tells a story of Christmas’s past.

Bringing to remembrance each gifter.

Whether handmade of tin foil and ribbon, purchased from a quaint, little gift shop or passed down from generations before, each one is a precious heirloom to me.

Thoughts of loved ones filled my mind.

Grandparents in Eternity.

Children, once babes, now fully grown.

Kindred spirits.

And.

Places we’ve been.

Each beautiful ornament symbolizing the importance of the Season.

The reason my heart is full.

The reason why tears dampened my cheeks.

The reason being,

Love.
