I have spoken on this topic many a times before. Perfection. We all at some point or another join the race for perfection. But you would think at this wise age of 47, and through all my previous posts, No longer do I run that race. However, I am. I run in a race of keeping a well tidied home. In a race of perfecting ones appearance. In a race of being that perfect wife. A perfect mother, with all the insight and patience that my grown and growing children deserve. The race for perfecting ones talents and gifting's. And the race of being that perfect Christian and individual that I long to be everyday and in every circumstance.
Well, I am here to say that God never promised us perfection in all that we do, say, and are. In fact, His word reads quite the opposite. Paul writes in, Philippians 1:6 ESV "And I am sure of this, that He who began a good work in you will bring it to completion at the day of Jesus Christ." Meaning, as long as we draw breath, and desire, He will continue to weave His ways within us. Whether by virtue of defeat or victory, we can grow throughout it all. I don't know about you, but this reassurance ushers in a much needed peace to this forever striving soul.
Take heart dear friends. He's not finished with us yet. We must continue our focus upon Him. He created us to be extraordinary. To run a race with endurance and valor. In Him and by His continuous strength and guidance, there is nothing that we cannot do!!!
I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. ~ 2 Timothy 4:7
