Lord, I'm ready now
There is a brilliant song by the artist, 'Plumb'. Its title, 'Lord, I'm ready now.' There is a particular line that suites me well. It describes the very thought process I continue to battle today. "I was so caught up in who I'm not can You please forgive me?" How many of us fall into this category? I'm not smart enough, not pretty enough, too large, too thin, too poor? We make excuses and look at others, coveting what they have, their gifting's and talents.
Paul wrote in 1 Corinthians 12:14-18 "Now the body is not made up of one part but of many. If the foot should say, "Because I am not a hand, I do not belong to the body," it would not for that reason cease to be part of the body. And if the ear should say, "Because I am not an eye, I do not belong to the body," it would not for that reason cease to be part of the body. If the whole body were an eye, where would the sense of hearing be? But in fact God has arranged the parts in the body, every one of them, just as He wanted them to be." So there you have it. Plain and simple, in black and white. Do not compare ourselves to others but look within to where the Lord resides and to the Word that brings us hope, encouragement, knowledge and correction when needed. See the unique and beautiful creation that you are. One of a kind. You have a specific strength and artistry that the world around you so desperately needs. Take those strong suits and make that difference you were made for.
"Lord, I'm ready now all the walls are down. Time is running out and I want to make this count. I ran away from you and I did what I wanted to. I don't want to let you down, Lord I'm ready now."~ Plumb
