When life throws you a
curveball, keep on swinging. Eventually you will hit your homerun!
I must say that life has
thrown quite a few curveballs over the years. This breaking pitch has caught me
off-guard and many a times off-balance. Even more so, striking me out. And you
know, it’s a funny thing, this ‘game of life’. That curveball and bases
represent different circumstances for each one of us. However, we all have the
same goal. To safely arrive at ‘home plate’.
But in order to recognize
that incoming pitch, with much needed discernment from above, we must keep our
eyes fixed ahead and with hearts beating hard within the deep cavity of our
chest and a sweaty brow, we swing with immense hope to hear that crack of the
bat as it hits the ball with monumental force. It is then at that moment, we
take flight. Possessing great drive and stamina, we take first base. Rounding
to second and third, persevering all the while. Although timing is different
for all, nonetheless, with profound determination, we will round home.
“So do not throw away your confidence; it
will be richly rewarded. You need to persevere so that when you have
done the will of God, you will receive what he has promised.” Hebrews
