With Love brings Joy

With Valentine's Day right around the corner I would like our focus to be directed towards one word today. You guessed it, 'love'.

In John 15:12 Christ implores, "This is my commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you." Then further down in vs 17 He ends with this, "These things I command you, that you love one another." He made it quite clear. And not in a simple request but with firm command. As a General speaks to his troops of strategic plans for battle is just as Jesus did through this one word. LOVE.

So in a time full of disdained words being hurled to and fro as if normalcy, let us choose love in its stead. One random act of kindness to someone could perhaps ignite a new flame within the hearts and mind of humanity.

The customer behind you in the local Starbucks drive-thru is delighted to find when arriving at the window their beverage has already been paid for. A phone call or perhaps even dropping by to visit the elderly shut in down the way. A warm, freshly baked plate of cookies [by you or bakery] to that friend or acquaintance home convalescing post-surgery. You may even find that a smile towards your fellowman passing by in the halls of your school, office, grocery store isle, or city sidewalk will spark a smile back towards you and others.

No matter what your act of kindness may be, one declaration rings true which is the warmth you will feel deep within upon doing so. JOY.

"These things I have spoke to you, that My joy may remain in you, and that your joy may be full." ~ John 15:11
