Rescued

One starry night, seven prayer warriors gathered to pray. To stand together against a war that had waged far, too long. The battle of sin and death. Chains of oppression bound its captive. Trapped in a world of sin and sickness, how this woman longed to be set free.

With voices lifted high in mighty prayer they applied fragrant oil to her sweaty brow. Songs of worship rung out in unison. After praying extensively, the woman lifted her arms in complete surrender. Tears flowed downward as the shackles that bound fell, setting its captive free. No longer would she wear the cloak of despair and disease, but rather the Garment of Praise. Two thousand years ago upon a bloodied cross and once again on a warm, summers eve, a woman bound by whispering lies tasted complete freedom for the first time in her life. Absolute. Sweet-Release. Her soul snatched from the grips of hell, she breathed in deeply the free air. Filled with a strength and power that only can come from the Holy Spirit, He ushered in immense Joy that danced within.

Her story she could share, but has chosen one far greater. The story of a war won. Love that rescued her from the pit. A pit filled with lies and death. A pit that almost buried her alive. A love that snatched up her crumpled figure out of the muck and mire, washing her clean. Healing her from the inside-out. Clothing her in a robe of righteousness and a crown upon her head. This incredible love is the Love of, Jesus! And the girl is me.
